Oxford-Instrument Coating Thickness Gauges

Our experience in the markets we serve allows us to provide devices specifically designed to deliver accurate readings for a broad range of coating thickness measurement applications.

Accuracy
We develop gauges that blend cutting-edge scientific measurement technology with proven, in-the-field performance and durability. Every gauge we sell is backed by professional and responsive customer support, providing a significant value over the lifetime of the product.

Applications
We manufacture our coating thickness gauges for convenience and ease-of-use in addition to accuracy, and design them in a variety of models (hand-held, bench-top, multi-purpose). These gauges are ideal for a full range of applications, including:

  • Anodising  - Electroless Nickel Plating - Galvanising - Plating - Powder Coating
Our selection of Coating Thickness Gauges:
  • CMI95 - For measuring copper foil thickness and laminate thickness on PCBs from 1/8 to 4.0 oz/ft2 (5-140?m) in less than a second
  • CMI153 – For measuring non-conductive coatings over non-ferrous substrates and non-magnetic coatings over ferrous substrates
  • CMI165 – For measuring Copper Thickness with Temperature Compensation
  • CMI200 & CMI233 - For measuring non-magnetic coatings over magnetic (ferrous) substrates and non-conductive coatings over conductive substrates
  • CMI243 - For measuring plated conductive metallic coatings over conductive ferrous substrates
  • CMI250 – For measuring non-conductive coatings over non-ferrous substrates and non-magnetic coatings over ferrous substrates.
  • CMI500 & CMI511 - Temperature compensating gauge for measuring plated thru hole copper thickness prior to and after etching
  • CMI563 – For measuring  copper thickness, including copper-clad laminate, electroless and electrolytic copper
  • CMI700 & CMI730 – A bench-top system for coating/plating thickness measurement for both non-magnetic coatings over magnetic substrates, non-conductive coatings over conductive substrates and electroplated nickel over magnetic substrates.
  • CMI760 & 760E – A bench top system for copper thickness and plated through hole copper thickness measurement and quality control needs of the printed circuit board industry
